Pixfun

Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 10, 2026

1. Introduction & Who We Are

Pixfun (published on the app stores as "Pixel Art AI") is a color-by-number pixel-art coloring game for iOS and Android, available on the App Store and Google Play. It is made by letitrock, a software developer based in Poland ("we", "us", "our"). We are the data controller for personal data processed through the Pixfun app and through this website.

This policy covers both the Pixfun mobile app and this website. It explains what we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and what choices and rights you have. We wrote it in plain language on purpose. Pixfun is meant to be a calm place — find calm, pixel by pixel — and reading about your privacy should feel that way too. If anything is unclear, email us at support@pixfun.app. Our Terms of Service cover the rules for using Pixfun itself; where this policy talks about legal bases, the contract we mean is those Terms.

2. At a Glance

The short version, before the details:

  • You can play without an account. Anonymous play is the default.
  • An account is optional — it just syncs your progress across devices.
  • We never see your payment card numbers. Apple and Google handle payments.
  • We do not sell your personal data. Ever.
  • No facial recognition, no face mapping, no biometric data.
  • Photos you import and prompts you type are used only to create your artwork.
  • You can delete your account and data directly in the app.

3. Information We Collect

We collect only what we need to run Pixfun. Here is the full list, grouped by where it comes from.

a) Account information (optional)

If you choose to sign in with Apple, Google, or email, we store your email address or the sign-in identifier those providers give us. Signing in is never required to color — its only job is to sync your progress across devices.

Whether or not you sign in, the app creates a pseudonymous user ID so your progress, coins, streaks, and artworks can be saved. This ID does not contain your name or email, but because it identifies your device or app instance, we treat it as personal data and protect it accordingly.

b) Usage & analytics

We record interaction events — which screens you open and which features you use. For example: starting a puzzle, finishing one, browsing a category, generating art in AI Studio, converting a photo, claiming a daily coin reward, or making a purchase. We use a third-party analytics provider for this. It helps us understand what works and what confuses people, so we can make Pixfun better. We are interested in patterns, not in watching individuals color.

c) Crash & performance data

When the app crashes or misbehaves, a crash log is sent to a crash-reporting service so we can find and fix the bug. It is configured not to send personal identifiers by default.

d) Purchases

If you subscribe to Pixfun Pro or make a one-time purchase (like the "no ads forever" option), we receive your purchase history and entitlements through a subscription-management platform so the app knows what you have unlocked — which artworks, whether ads are off, and how many monthly AI credits you get. Payments themselves happen in-app and are processed by Apple and Google as independent controllers, under their own privacy policies. Your card details never reach us. We could not see them if we wanted to, and we do not want to.

e) Advertising data

The free version of Pixfun shows ads through a third-party advertising network. If you consent via the in-app consent form (and, on iOS, allow tracking through App Tracking Transparency), the ad network may process your device's advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, GAID on Android) to show personalized ads. Without consent, ads are non-personalized instead. We also store your consent choices so we can respect them across sessions. Rewarded ads — the optional ones you can watch for bonus coins — are always your choice to start. You can change your mind about personalization anytime — see Your Privacy Choices.

f) Anti-fraud data

We process a hashed device identifier to prevent abuse of free AI credits (for example, someone repeatedly reinstalling the app to claim them again). It is used only for this purpose.

g) Content you provide

When you use photo-to-pixel, we process the photo you pick from your camera or library — only that photo, and only to turn it into a colorable pixel puzzle. When you use AI Studio, we process the text prompt you type (for example, "A brown owl peeking out of a hollow") to generate your artwork. See section 5 for exactly how this works.

h) Notifications

Reminders (like a nudge to keep your daily streak) are optional. The notification permission lives entirely on your device — we do not collect or store push notification tokens on our servers. Turn notifications off anytime in your device's settings.

i) Support

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write. We use it only to help you.

4. Information We Do NOT Collect

Just as important is what we stay away from:

  • No biometric data. No facial recognition or face mapping — not even in photo-to-pixel.
  • No payment card numbers. Apple and Google keep those.
  • No access to your contacts.
  • No precise location data.
  • We do not sell personal data, and we never will.

5. AI Generation & Your Data

AI Studio and photo-to-pixel are the heart of Pixfun. Type it, see it in pixels — or from your photo to a puzzle. To make that happen, your input has to leave your device: your prompt or photo is sent to specialized third-party AI providers — pixel-art generation services, plus a language-model provider for the automatic prompt improvement step. They receive your input solely to create your artwork. Your chosen style (Kawaii, 8-Bit Retro, Noir, and so on) and canvas size travel with the request as settings; they say nothing about you personally.

The rules we hold ourselves and our providers to:

  • We do not use your prompts or photos to train our own AI models.
  • These providers act as our processors under agreements that limit how they may use your data.
  • The generated artwork is stored with your account so you can color it whenever you like.
  • Deleting your account removes your generated artworks along with the rest of your data.

Photos deserve one extra note: when you use photo-to-pixel, we process only the single photo you pick, and only to build your puzzle. We do not scan your camera roll, and we do not run facial recognition on anything — a face in your photo simply becomes pixels to color, like everything else in the frame.

6. How We Use Information & Legal Bases

Under the GDPR, every use of personal data needs a legal basis. Here is our mapping, in plain terms:

  • Providing the Service — running the app, saving your progress, syncing across devices, generating your artworks, and delivering your purchases. Legal basis: performance of a contract (our Terms).
  • Analytics and product improvement — understanding how Pixfun is used so we can improve it. Legal basis: our legitimate interests, and your consent where the law requires it.
  • Personalized advertising — showing ads matched to your interests in the free version. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw anytime (see Your Privacy Choices).
  • Fraud prevention and security — keeping free credits fair and the Service safe. Legal basis: our legitimate interests.
  • Legal compliance — keeping records the law says we must keep, such as tax records for purchases. Legal basis: legal obligation.

Where we rely on legitimate interests, we have weighed them against your rights and use the least data we can. Where we rely on consent, saying no — or changing your mind later — never locks you out of coloring.

7. Who We Share Data With

We share personal data only with the service providers that make Pixfun work, each for a narrow purpose. Most act as our processors — they handle data on our instructions and may not use it for their own ends:

Partner categoryWhat they do for us
Cloud backend providerHosting, database, and authentication — where your account and artworks live.
Subscription-management platformSubscription and purchase management.
Advertising networkAdvertising in the free version, after your consent.
Analytics providerProduct analytics.
Crash-reporting serviceCrash reporting.
AI generation providersAI generation only — turning your prompts and photos into artwork.
Apple & GoogleApp distribution and payments, acting as independent controllers.

A current list of our specific providers is available on request — email support@pixfun.app.

We may also disclose data to public authorities where the law requires it. We do not sell or rent personal data to anyone.

8. Your Privacy Choices

You stay in control. Here is where each switch lives:

  • Ads: manage or withdraw your ad-personalization consent anytime in the app under Settings → Manage ad preferences.
  • Tracking (iOS): control App Tracking Transparency under Settings → Privacy → Tracking on your device.
  • Notifications:turn reminders off anytime in your device's system settings.
  • Account: you never need one. Pixfun works anonymously by default; sign in only if you want cross-device sync.
  • Deletion: delete your account and data in the app (Settings) or by emailing support@pixfun.app.

9. Children

Pixfun is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13. In the European Economic Area, the age of digital consent applies instead — in Poland it is 16. Below that age, a parent or guardian must consent to the processing of a child's personal data. These age rules match our Terms of Service.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us personal data, contact us at support@pixfun.app and we will delete it.

10. Data Retention & Deletion

To delete your account: open Pixfun and go to Settings → Delete Account, or email support@pixfun.app and we will do it for you. We remove your personal data — including your generated artworks and coloring progress — within 30 days. Your generated artworks from the camera roll will are stored on the phone until you delete them or uninstall the app.

Beyond that, we keep data only as long as it has a job to do:

  • Account data — your sign-in details, progress, streaks, coins, and artworks — is kept for as long as your account is active, so everything is there when you come back.
  • Purchase records are kept for as long as the law requires (for example, tax and accounting rules).
  • Analytics and crash data are retained for limited periods set by our processors, then deleted or anonymized.
  • Anonymous or aggregated data that can no longer identify you may be kept longer — for example, statistics about which categories are most popular.

11. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are in the EEA or UK, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectify data that is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Eraseyour data ("right to be forgotten").
  • Restrict processing in certain situations.
  • Receive your data in a portable, machine-readable format.
  • Object to processing based on legitimate interests — and object absolutely to direct marketing.
  • Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing that happened before.

To exercise any of these rights, email support@pixfun.app. We will respond within the timelines the GDPR sets.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In Poland that is the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO), uodo.gov.pl. You may also contact the authority in your own EU country.

12. International Transfers

We are based in Poland, but some of our processors are based in the United States. When your data leaves the EEA, we rely on safeguards recognized by the GDPR: adequacy decisions of the European Commission (including the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, where the provider is certified) and Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the Commission. These mechanisms are designed to keep your data protected to EU standards wherever it is processed. You can ask us at support@pixfun.app for more detail about the safeguard that applies to a particular transfer.

13. Security

We protect your data with encryption in transit, access controls, and the principle of least access — people and systems only touch the data they genuinely need for their task. We also keep the amount of data small in the first place, which is the quietest security measure of all. That said, honesty matters here: no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot promise absolute security. We can promise to take it seriously, and section 14 explains what happens if something goes wrong anyway.

14. Data Breach Response

If a personal data breach occurs and is likely to risk your rights and freedoms, we will notify the competent supervisory authority within 72 hours, as the GDPR requires. If the risk to you is high, we will also inform affected users without undue delay, in clear language, with practical steps you can take.

15. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Updates are posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. If a change is material, we will flag it in the app or on this site so you do not have to find out by accident.
